Why Invest in the Cartersville-Bartow Foundation?

Building Futures in Our Hometown

Philanthropy: Founded in 2001 with $14,000, today the Foundation has a base of over $425,000 in assets and pledges. During its brief history it has awarded over $400,000 in grants.

Simplicity: Giving away money can get complicated, but creating a Fund within the Foundation is a simple process. Unlike establishing or maintaining a private foundation, a fund or endowment at the Community Foundation does not have the same compliance and tax requirements. The Community Foundation administers the contributions, manages investments and files all appropriate tax returns, a true “one-stop” resource.

Permanence: Unlike a one-time donation to your favorite cause or organization, a gift to the Community Foundation can express your personal values and can serve the community in your name permanently.

Tax Benefits: Gifts to the Community Foundation receive the maximum tax advantages for income, gift and estate tax purposes.

Flexibility: The Community Foundation can receive many kinds of assets, make many grants to a wide variety of community organizations and can even tailor a donor-advised fund or endowment to specific interests.

Leadership & Accountability: A Board of Directors, composed of community leaders from diverse segments of the Cartersville - Bartow community provides stewardship and guidance. The Foundation is independently audited annually to assure financial accountability.

Recognition or Anonymity: Donors can choose to be publicly recognized for their generosity or they can remain completely anonymous. A Fund can also be established in recognition of a loved one, friend or an organization.
