About Grants
It All Starts Here
The Community Foundation of Northwest Georgia seeks to support projects and programs that influence the community beyond the time of funding. We support projects and programs that:
- Create opportunity
- Build Potential
- Foster individual and family self-sufficiency
- Target root causes of problems rather than symptoms
- Build bridges and foster collaboration within the community
- Promote social responsibility
The Community Foundation welcomes applications from organizations that provide services in Northwest Georgia and have tax exempt status. Our focus areas are:
- Arts & Cultural Enrichment
- Civic Activities
- Education & Lifelong Learning
- Health Services
- Religious Affiliates
- Social Services
- Nature and the Environment
- Historic Preservation
- Animal Welfare
The Community Foundation is especially interested in providing "seed money" to stimulate development of innovative programs and projects. Once a program is established, the Foundation expects that funds from other sources will cover the continuing costs. We do not provide funding for normal operational expenses.
Grants are typically in the range of $1,000 to $3,500.
