About Our Foundation
It all started in 1998 when a few local philanthropists decided that Northwest Georgia needed a Community Foundation to help donors establish charitable funds and maximize the impact of their giving. Since then, we've grown. We now have three geographic affiliates led by local leadership in Dalton, Cartersville, and Calhoun. We manage over 200 charitable funds for individuals, families, and nonprofit organizations. We've made over $44 million in grants. Most of all, we've helped change the world one grant at a time.
Our mission is to promote and facilitate charitable giving. We magnify giving and make it easier for our donors to do good. We work with area charities so they can make a positive impact. We proudly support Northwest Georgia and that means healthier, happier, more successful communities.

Learn About Our Tools
Our Foundation manages a variety of charitable funds, each with its own purpose and mission. In each case, funds are created to further the charitable interests of a family, individual, cause or institution. Think of the Foundation as a “custom shop” for building charitable strategies that best meet your individual or group needs. Funds can be restricted to certain purposes, like scholarships or endowments, or general purposes like supporting your favorite nonprofit or community groups. We put your goals first, using the our skill and knowledge to make giving easier and maximize its impact.
